Description

In this lesson, students learn about the comparative and superlative based on discovery approach. The lesson starts by showing some pictures and asking some questions and engaging students by answering the questions. This is followed by some activities and asking questions and explaining the different syllabus.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To generate interest in the topic of the lesson

T Greets the class and represents some pictures to the students and asks them to complete the sentences. The teacher shows a table that contains a list of people with their information. The teacher asks for volunteers to write complete sentences according to the examples. The teacher gives the students 3 min to write or say their sentences. After finishing, the teacher asks a question about superlative adj. Finally, the teacher shows pictures about 2 or more syllable adj and asks the students to complete the sentences.

Teach (10-15 minutes) • To clarify aspects of the target language based on what learners already know.

The teacher introduces adj with 2 syllables comparative and superlative adj. The teacher expresses one syllable adj, 2 syllable adj ending in -y and adj with more than 2 syllables Write the types of the syllabus, forms of them and make an example. The teacher give some adj to the students and asks them to put this adj into the right columns. The teacher gives some activities to the students and asked them to make sentences.

Test #2 (15-20 minutes) • To consolidated the new grammatical rule

The teacher gives the students an exercise and asks them to complete the chart by using different adjectives. The teacher gives activities to the students and asks them to make an example. The teacher clarifies the instructions followed by concept check questions asks students to listen to the audio and answer the questions in part one and Compare the answers in the group. the teacher Plays the record for part 2 and gives students time to match the answers.

Feedback (3-5 minutes) • To correct errors in TL use

In this part, the teacher will provide the students with less control activities.
