In this session Ss will get familiar future tenses, future continuous and future perfect. For the last 45 minutes of the class which is the production phase, Ss are going to have controlled, semi-controlled and freer practice on the grammar learned.

Main Aims

  • To provide Ss with controlled, semi-controlled and freer practices on the grammar learned

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide Ss with writing and speaking about their future plans and programms as a semi-controlled and freer practice


Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ss have the handout i front of them, so T gives the instructions to them, checks the instruction with Ss and want them to it individually first and then gives them time to check their answers in pair. Then she checks the answers that are different WC and wants the to analyze the sentences.

Controlled Practice (5-7 minutes) • To provide Ss with more controlled practice in order to master the form and meaning

T gets the Ss to do task seven which is a gap filling practice. Ss should do the practice in pairs and then T gives the answers to them on a paper to discuss the answers together with their friends.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

T wants the Ss to do practice 8 on the handout which a semi-controlled writing practice. Ss individually complete the sentences about themselves. T wants the Ss to do a pair work and talk about their future for their partner and ask follow-up questions. They are going to take notes about their partners' plans are.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

In order to do a freer practice, T wants Ss to stand up, choose a new partner and talk about the ex-partner for the new one. T monitors them and tries to make notes or records their mistakes. After they are finished, T will write some the mistakes on the board and wants them to help correct the mistakes.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide Ss with more freer practice and more fluency

In order to have more freer practice T provides the Ss with another activity (the photoshoot). Ss should do a pair work, one of them is a photographer and calls the secretary of a famous person to manage a time to see that famous person. They should use future perfect and future continuous to struggle to find a free time on the schedule to meet. T monitors Ss and take notes of their mistakes and after the task is done, T writes them on the board and want them to correct the mistakes with their partners.
