Description

In this lesson students will learn how to make a hotel's reservation by learning new hotel's vocabularies and practice dialogue about it.

Main Aims

  • To provide practice in speaking in the context of reserving a Hotel room

Subsidiary Aims

  • To practice the functional language of the Hotel areas, rooms and phrases in the same context

Procedure

lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and to activate schemata

*I will tell the students that my friend Elnora had asked me about the best Hotel in the city to stay in. * I will show them up two pictures of luxury hotel and normal one, and guess with the students which is the best one for her by asking some questions like : - what are the advantages to stay in an expensive hotel than cheap? -what are things you are searching for when you stay in a Hotel? what is the first thing you should do before staying in the Hotel? -Do you usually reserve via internet or telephone or to go the hotel by yourself and reserve a room? -when was the last time you have booked in the Hotel? -can you describe the Hotel, the room , and the service? - what is the bad thing you are always facing when you book a room in the hotel?

preparation (3-5 minutes) • to give the students time to prepare ideas on the Topic

* I will set them a task to learn them some Hotel words with its symbol. *Ask them to match each word with its symbol. * demonstrate the first one if necessary. * let them check in Pairs *Review their answers and drill each word individually.

useful language • To provide the students with useful language for the task

#I will Focus on the picture and ask the students (what do you see?) # Elicit the answer from them (Mark and the receptionist). # I will write two questions on the board and let them listen to the dialogue to answer the two written questions. # Ask them to guess the missed words in the YOU HEAR Exercise individually #Ask them to check in pairs #Play the CD or video to check their answers.
