Procedure (13-20 minutes)
1_ T uses the PPPT to ask the ss (What do you think are they talking about?). 2_ T elicits some answers from the ss.
1_ T asks the ss Why do you think Annie is calling Rachel. 2_ T asks the ss to listen to a conversation between Annie and Rachel to answer the question. 3_ T elicits the answer from the ss. 4_ T gives the ss HO 1. 5_ T gives the ss one minute to read the questions. 6_ T asks the ss to listen again to answer the questions. 7_ T elicits some of the answers from the ss. 8_ T gives the ss the answer key.
1_ T asks the ss to match the phrases on the wall. 2_ T demonstrates once. 3_ T gives FB.
1_ T writes ( We can not do Wednesday. ) on the board. 2_ T asks the ss 'Does the phrase mean agreeing on invitation on that day'. 3_ T asks the ss 'Does the phrase mean refusing the invitation on that day'. 4_ T elicits the answers from the ss. 5_ T highlights the contraction ( can not ) ( can't). 6_ T highlights the stress in the sentence.
