Description

In this lesson students will practice speaking skills and talk about friendship to express their opinion. they will also learn new vocabulary related to friendship. teacher stars with a video for warm up to foster their interest then teach them some vocabulary using pics .this is followed by competition to highlight on the vocabulary and finally they discussed in controlled activity about their best friend and they end up with a debate

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher will play a video and ask students to watch it and then in pairs discuss about the main idea . afterwards I will open a discussion with them and ask them questions What does friendship mean to you?. Are you a social person? are you a good friend ? why ? why not?

Exposure / Pre- listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

I will Teach them some new Vocabularies related to friendship by Visuals clues by showing them pics for each word and try to eliciting the words from them . The word (GOSSIP) Teacher asks student where is the good person here ? the girl at the front or at the back ? students say at the back ? teacher what at the back bad ? students answers because they are talking about her behind her back then then teacher drills the word and ask them to repeat it after him one more time then drill it on the board and the teacher surely work on the pronunciation of each word

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

At this stage Teacher will play students the board game . i will divide them into tow teams and chose students from each group then I say word out loud then they run to the board and write the word on the board and use it in an example and the one finishes first will take the point and so on it's going to be more energetic.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

At this stage the teacher will ask students to discuss in pairs and each student describes his best friend and talk about him to the partner using some of the words the have just learned while the teacher is mentoring them and correct their mistakes.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Teacher asks student to have a debate on Online friends VS real life friends and they will cover these points. 1.Keeping You Company 2. Gossip and life problems 3.Activities

Feedback and error correction (5-6 minutes) • to provide provide feedback on students' production

Teacher takes all notes and the mistakes that happened during the debate and drill it on the board and elicit the mistakes . then discuss with students about it
