Procedure (50-60 minutes)
the teacher will start the lesson with a warmer game to let students get engaged quickly in the lesson the teacher will start with a hangman game of the word communication and students will start to call out letters when they complete the word communication the teacher will start asking some questions what are the means of communication ?do you prefer written way of communications ?do you prefer letters or emails?then students will work in pairs to discuss those questions then the teacher will show them a picture on the smart board about a man is writing a letter ask students what do you think what will we write today?students will say letter.
then the teacher will show students a video about complaint letter that we took it the last writing session to remind the students of the criteria of writing letters. then the teacher will set students in clusters and give each group a letter (activity 1) and ask students what are the reasons to write like this type of letter ?did you read a business letter before ?what is the reason of writing this letter?what was the order the students will work in groups to answer those questions.
the teacher will revise the vocabulary that are relevant to the topic "customer-agent-confirmation-goods-supply"the teacher will elicit each words then the teacher will give students the vocabulary hand out the teacher will help students in reading and students will answer in group and make peer correction the teacher will monitor the students and write the correct answer on board and discuss with the students the answers .then the teacher will give students a formal letter( in activity 2) and seat students in clusters and ask them to work in group to read the letter and choose the appropriate word for the formal letter.
the teacher will ask each group to make a role play 2 groups will be customers and the other two groups will be salesmen the teacher will make everything students need it ready to help them to attract the customers brochure,business cards ,catalogs,flags ,signs and banners.then teacher will give clear instructions every customer will go to the salesman asking for a product and the salesman will try to persuade him,then the students will write a letter to the customers to attract them to use their services then each group will present his letter on board with an explanation.
the teacher was taking notes during the productive task the teacher will write the mistakes of the students on board and provide correction and feedback . then the teacher will ask students to write a letter as a homework to persuade parents to come and apply in our school.
