Description

In this lesson, I will teach reading through three stages pre reading,while reading and post reading. for pre reading there will be lead-in followed by pre teaching blocking vocab and prediction.for while reading there will be gist,specific information and detailed tasks and for post reading thee will be a freer practice.

Main Aims

  • for students to pracitice reading for gist and sppecific information in the context of E-shopping.

Subsidiary Aims

  • for students to practice fluency speaking in the context of E shopping

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1) Teacher greets students 2) teacher asks students whether they have gone shopping this week. Teacher gather some answers. 3-Teacher asks 2 questions about E-shopping and whether they like to buy clothes online? A)Have you ever bought Anything online? what was it? B)would you ever buy clothes online?

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

pre-teach vocabulary 1-Teacher pre-teach words that prevent students from understandig the text. 1-gardener 2-gift wrapping 3-special deliveries 4-fashion parade 5-trilogy 2- teacher askes students to look at the picture andtitle of the text and discuss it with each other.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

scimming (reading for the gist) 1-teacher asks students to do activity three they need to look at the website page and read the situations and find the link on the website they need to click on to get the information. 2-scanning( reading for specific information) teacher asks students to read the handout and match them to stores in the mall.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Comprehension (reading for details) 3-students read the handout again and answer the questions. they have 3 minutes.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1-Teacher divides students into 2 groups and asks them to discuss advanages and disadvantages of E-shopping. 2-students then say advantages and disadvantages one by one. Note: when a group says an advantage will be silent to hear a disadvantage from the other group.
