Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T sticks some posters of movies on the walls and asks Ss to go around and decides which movies he'd watched before. T asks ss: What is common between these movies? They are disaster movies. Are these movies based on real or imaginative stories? Real stories. Can you think of any other disaster movies based on real events?

Pre-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T asks Ss to look at the picture and the title and guess what the passage is about. T prompts Ss to say: plane crash, disaster, real event, survivor....etc T: You are going to read about Josh Peltz's real experience of a plane crash. What do you think Josh thought about as the plane was going down? What do you think he did when he was safe?

While-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

T asks Ss to compare the text with their ideas. Ss check their ideas in pairs

Post-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide Ss with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
