Description

In this lesson, students learn about different vocabulary about shopping. Students will engage to show pictures to talk, then elicit the TL. In this section, the lesson will provide meaning, pronunciation, and form of the TL. In free practice via a final role-play speaking activity.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification meaning, phonology and form of functional language in the context of offers.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide speaking practice using offers questions and answers.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To introduce the topic of the lesson

Teacher asks some questions about shopping and express some questions about shopping and shoppers and asks students to have conversation with each other then mention in the class.

Expand context (8-10 minutes) • To provide a clear situation to present & elic─▒t TL

When students lead in the topic the teacher shows pictures and asks some CCQs about pictures and tries to elicit language .

Focus on meaning (8-10 minutes) • To provide clarification of meaning of TL & check students understanding

While teacher shows pictures and students could guess teacher shows the word .so to show the picture and word students will get that what does that word mean.

Focus on phonology (10-12 minutes) • To provide clarification of the pronunciation of the TL

After that teacher showed pictures and words then she will show the phonetics of words and asks students to repeat the pronunciation.so they can see phonetics on the screen.

Focus on form (2-5 minutes) • To provide clarification of the form of the TL

While teacher shows pictures and words so they can see the form of the words.

Practice (20-25 minutes) • To provide practice of the TL using the same situation

When teacher finishes she will demonstrate which part of the book should be cover and give instruction to do their exercise. when SS finish part A they will go to part B and have discussion in pairs .After that teacher will check their answers and give them feedback if they had problem. For part C students should share their idea about shopping. so teacher gives them time to talk each other in pairs then they should express idea.

Practice 2 (10-15 minutes) • To provide practice of the TL using the same situation

Teacher has provided some pictures and questions when there is an extra time. according to the number of students teacher make groups A,b,c... then they have to ask questions about those pictures that is exist in the handout. Another task is questions that should be work in pairs if they have time.

Feedback (3-4 minutes) • To praise good use of TL

Teacher notes some errors and establishes error correction.
