Description

In this session, students are going to discuss their family stories together, hear some funny stories and have some game-based activities. They will have a number of activities to experience different situations in order to speak. T will provide SS with papers and pictures to help them get engaged.

Procedure

Warmer/lead in - Engagement (5-9 minutes) • Build up rapport , To engage ss into the lesson and make them familiar with the topic and prepare them to talk

T will smile and enter the class T will greet ss and ask about their feelings T will try to show a picture of himself to engage ss into the topic and ask them who this person is T will ask ss to think of their family members, and decide which one do they love more and why? T will get ss mingle around and ask each other's ideas about family members

Study (6-9 minutes) • To provide ss with the details of related topic

T will ask ss to write 10 sentences about their family, some true ones and some wrong ones. They have to do it individually, not sharing answers with others. Then at the end, in pairs, they have to start " call my bluff" activity to guess which sentences are true and which are wrong.

Activation (24-27 minutes) • To put information into practice, make ss have some sort of speaking activities

Controlled: T will give ss some small pieces of papers including some questions, then they have 2 minutes to think about those questions. After that, they have to mingle around and talk to as many as ss they can. Then T will ask them about different answers they heard and CL will share ideas. Semi-Controlled: T will hang the rope, give each S a picture and a stapler, they have to sit on the ground in front of each other, hang pictures with staplers, the other partner should not see the paper, then that person should have story narration, narrating the picture's story for his/her partner, then the partner should guess the picture and it's theme and situation. Freer: T will ask ss to imagine they are in an art gallery, T will play a music, and will ask ss to have a pen and a paper , they have to describe one of their family members to others, and the other members must guess who that person is, and by the sign of T, they have to move on and try to talk to others. They have to make some notes on those papers. Finally, they have to tell the class, how many people did they talk to and what did they talk about. As their homework, T will ask them to bring a picture of their family and write a full descriptions of them.
