in this lesson students will learn about past simple tense ,they will be able to talk about complete action happen in the past ,i will start the lesson by the lead in through asking students questions about what they did in the last holiday ,students will start talk about the activities they did it in the past in the last holiday. then the lesson will start first, by showing them pictures with some free time activities and i will give them an example about the first picture to help them to guess in the first picture i will say " i traveled to Miami in the holiday." then the students will be able to talk about the other pictures .then i will give them a handout they will read the text and try to figure out the past actions they will highlight the past action from the context.second,they will have controlled practice activities the teacher will distribute the students in groups ,and finally they will have free practice as a role play by asking questions about what they did in the last holiday .

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

teacher will ask students about what they did in the last holiday ? where did they go? what did they do? then the teacher will start by talking about her holiday for example in my last holiday i travelled to Miami . then the teacher will listen to the students talking about their last holiday.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through pictures

the teacher will start by showing the students some pictures about free time activities let students guess what you are going to talk about then i will give them the first example last weekend i climbed a mountain .then i will give them positive and negative examples then questions and short answers .then i will let them to talk about each picture

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

the teacher created a context, the teacher will give the student a handout to highlight the past simple verbs . then students will write the sentences with past actions on the whiteboard.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

the teacher will use the sentences on the board to clarify the meaning from pronunciation. the teacher will elicit the sentences by asking CCQs what did beth do? the students will answer she baked a cake. the teacher will ask the students is this action happening now the students will say no the teacher will ask again is this action happened in the past they will say yes . then the teacher will highlight all the past verbs to make it clear to the students .

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

the teacher will let the students to work in groups to answer the exercise and she will be monitoring the students to check their mistakes .the teacher will let the students with the correct answer to help the others with the answer key on board.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

the teacher will play with the students the memory circle game the students will stay in a circle the teacher will start with the first sentence i played football the the next student will complete with another sentence in the past to form a story .the teacher will correct their mistakes to let them ready for the free practice activity.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

the teacher will ask the student to write about their best holiday and the happiest moments and what they did in this holiday.
