Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of functional language in the context of travelling(airport)

Subsidiary Aims

  • to provide flunency and S be able to use functional language at the airport


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T explain about different forms of 'transport by asking S ,you know what are different types of transport ?show picture transport and drill by car ,by train,( to give s prior knowledge of the target language.) -show S pictures(course book) to guess ,ask S in pair you know where it is? talk to each other answer Q1, do it in pairs ok ? in one min?give them hand out _there 's a 'ferry ,a plane, two double-decker trams ( a bus with two level)

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

-T announce a flight in class to make more interest in topic.and also put them in that situation,where am i right now ,so imagine u r at the airport. -lets see what happens at the airport? (to elicit information about function language they are bieng presented later on I would make them have conversation ) -please with your partner talk about being at airport for 3 mins

Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the test stage

T show and present block words:luggage= 'baggage drill/board it/stress ,screens show 1 syllable drill/board/stress shows arrivals and departures, arrival time departure time on screen to land to take off show with hands... (flights and gate number drill/board/stress) book your ticket online miming that you pay and book the flight ('reserve your ticket personally with your phone may be.e.g i book my tickets online.gate number drill/board/stress. -with chest present. look at b here u should read it once ,read it quickly in one minute -5.3 listening ok listen carefully and put them in order show with hand _do you want to listen again? -ok with your partner check the answers show my fingers two by two...

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

- 3 work in pairs ,ask and answer Qs part 3 you have 5 mins,what are you goning to do ?to ask and answer,u have 5 mins... monitoring with delayed correction

Free practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-S stand up talk to your friend about your own story, being at the airport, where do you like to go ? e.g I like to fly to canada ,and I 'm at the airport what should I do ?with whispering u can use these sentences, ok what r u goning to do ? talk to your friends.and you have 10 mins ok stand up _after 3 mins change your partner, walk around the class,find a new person -monitoring -feed back : write on the board the wrong sentences they guess what is write what is wrong....
