Description

In this lesson, students will learn some information about Scottish Island. this lesson starts asking some questions about Scottland. then go through the book(cutting edge, elementary, Sara Cunningham and Peter Moor,3rd edition). then students have a look at the questions about that listening. then play the recording to tick the thing that the person talks about. then students check in pairs and play the recording again if students are unsure and then check as a class. finally, students compare their ideas and answer.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I show some pictures of the different palace and ask them where is that palace.so they have to guess. after that, I put then on the board and provide texts which are related to pictures.so give them and ask to find that picture and stick texts on the below of those pictures.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

then students go through the picture about Scottland and I will elicit information about that picture and write them on the board

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

they have to look at sentences in exercise to get ready to listen to the recording. after that, I play the audio then give students time for doing exercise and check their answers in pairs.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

then I explain some words that students didn't know the meaning. then if they need I play the recording again for doing exercise 2.after that they have to compare their answers to each other.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

after that, I will give those pictures which we stuck on the board before .on the back of those paper i had written some letters before. students should find the same letter in the class and have seat beside each other.then they have to talk about what pictures and tell the partners why do they like that palace .after that I will listen to them.finally they have to complete the sentences in exercise 3.
