In this lesson students learn about how to describe life in their favorite town,based on reading and listening and the speaking task followed( order of course book).The lesson started with a description of pictures of the course book contained Melbourne,and this is followed by reading(questionnaire)and listening (controlled practice) and free practice through describing thier own favorite town.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of life in Melbourne and able students to describe life in thier favorite town.

Subsidiary Aims

  • I am goning to make students to speak about thier favorite town in order to get that achievment ,refering to course book as an main source I would teach them a reading and listening To provide a situation(exposure) for students to give them idea and practice more

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • to generate interest in the topic of the lesson

focus students attention on the photos and elicit brief description of what is in each one focus on facts about Melbourne such as where is located or even check if students understand capital of the state and average temperature and so on.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

To set lesson context and engage students more with providing students a situation(exposure) and giving them hand out to practice more,

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

and focus attention on the questionnaire (reading) give students enough time to read and deal with any unknown vocabulary

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

make students think about thier favorite village,town,city and make a short note or paragraph and use questionnaire model as an example,and speak about that in thier groups.and also swap thier partner.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

because of focus on fluency in describing their favorite town I would monitoring far from them not be distracted and feeling uncomfortable.and group correction is provided they themselves would correct when they are mingling ad talking
