Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will stick some pictures on the WB.They are the pictures of chess, different kinds of dance, some sports activities. Then I will ask them what these photos mean.I will try to elicit the meaning.

Pre-Reading/Listening (12-15 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will ask them "do you go to evening classes?" "What do you do in your free time?" "What are your hobbies?" I will put them in pairs to practice it,then I ask them to say it aloud. Then I ask them to swap their group and check their friends answers. Then I'll tell them that we are going to read a text, which activities do you like a lot? Note:swapping the groups depend on the time.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

They will read the text quickly,in order to get a general idea of the text.I will raise some CCQs. 1 What time is the sports club open?(at 7 15) 2 When do they meet for readıng books?(every Monday) 3 What days do they go dancıng?(every Wednesday and Frıday) They can answer the questions together. Then, they will talk together which activity they like the most. This is going to be done in 5 minutes, after that I will ask them to underline the verbs in each group for these activities. Then they should check their answers together and at the end with me. Note:If the second part is going to last more than 3 minutes I will skip checking their underlined-verb answers.

Post-reading activity 1 (6 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand

I will give them the second HO where they have to utilize their knowledge and fill in the blanks with the verbs they have already underlined. Then they can check their answers together,at the end they will see the right answers from the answer key on the WB. Note:if the pace of the class is slow,I will give the answer key to them rather than asking them to come to the WB for checking the right answer.

Post-Reading2/Listening/writing (12-15 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will play the cd 1 track 92. the students are asked to listen once and answer the questions, which is putting a check mark next to the words that Chelsea is talking about. After doing that I put them in pairs and ask them to work in pair to check their answers together. At the end,I ask somebody from this group go to the other groups to check their answers together. Note: if I run out of time I am going to skip their checking answers together. At last as the next subsidiary aim I will ask them to write one piece of advertisement about the place they are studying English,ITI.
