Description

In this lesson ,students learn about the use of common verbs and lexical phrases, related vocabularies based on the reading text(your life), and the lesson start with a discussion about talking student`s daily life for elicitation and also description of the picture in the course book and this is followed by pre teaching vocabularies and an introductory reading about your life , finally there are some controlled practice through T/F questions and filling the blanks and for free practice role playing and other games

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of common verbs and lexical phrases in the context of family and daily life
  • To provide clarification of vocablaries: flat,get up,bus,dinner,parents,south,house.and common verbs such as go, get up, have, live ,study,work

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide scan, detailed and deduction reading practice using a text about daily life
  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about daily life

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

talk obout my daily life and elicit information to know about thier back ground khowledge and also refering to the picture of india and ask guess where does she live ? i love to go to this country ...where is it? what more you can see in this picture...and so on

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

pre teach new vocabularies of the reading to prevent students from blocking and being stuck,followed with visual aids and showing them pictures after that give students hand out about Armita daily life in india to be exposed before reading the text.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

by reading and asking about gist of it and ask general questions to practice scaning,so I encourage them to pay attention to the target language

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

drilling activities and showing the picture of new vocabularies

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

fill in the blanks and T/F questions

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

ask them to write 2 or 3 sentences each of them and talk about in thier groups

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

students walk around the class mingling and speaking and intorduce themselves and talk about thier daily life using common verbs been taught
