Description

In this lesson, ss will practice speaking for accuracy and fluency in the context of keeping in touch. The lesson starts with a lead in and the I will elicit from the ss and reviews and extends the vocab discussed before. I will then make sure ss understand the pronunciation (syllables and word stress) and the form of the words. then I will use semi-controlled and freer practice to encourage ss to practice speaking.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (7-9 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

books closed. Then I will write on board COMMUNICATION. then , to the left I will write with words and to the right , I will wright without word. I will put ss into small groups and give them two mins to think of different ways of communication that they could categories as being with or without words. I will give them some ideas to help them start( with :shout or chat) .(without :clap or whisper). Then I will take the feedback as a class and collate their ideas on the board. ss then work in pairs to discuss when and why people use these different ways of communicating.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

I will show ss some photos to make elicit the meaning from them for instance a photo that contains a person that waving to another person with smile . then i will ask them what does this person do. they will say he is greeting the other person .also i will show them another photo oh someone that is angry and make a movement about bad situation, and i will ask them what is he doing.he is complaining and because they already know these words before so i will have no trouble explaining them but if in some point they did not know a word i will elicit it .another word i will review is generation and i will present it also the in the same way. Then i will use ccqs to check their understanding for example: (greet) was the man shouting to the other person? no was he saying hello to him? yes do you use the same way to say hi to anyone? depending on the students answer. (generation) are they at the same age? yes did they born and lived about the same time? (complain) is he happy? is this main going to express dissatisfaction about this situation? if you were in this situation what will you do? then i will review the form and pronunciation with them.

Productive Task(s) semi-controlled practice (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

exercise A tick right the things that you have done recently. make notes about the experience. met some one new. had communication problem with someone from you generation. spoken to a large audience. met a famous person. communicated with someone you don't know online. send or received a letter. i will ask them to work in pairs they have only 5 mins to tick and read make notes and to discuss their ideas together . Then I will ask them to swap their books to look at the experience their partner has ticked. then I will give them another 5 mins to write questions about these experiences. I will monitor them to help if necessary and to make sure the question s are correctly formed. icqs how many mins do you have to tick and make notes? 5 mins will you work in groups? no , in pairs how many mins do you have to write questions? 5 mins then after they finish i will ask then=m to discuss their experiences , and i will monitor them to note down examples or incorrect use of question forms and communication vocabulary.

Feedback and Error Correction (4-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

in this stage I will use my notes for the feedback and I will write them on board and then I will tell ss that this sentences have some mistakes and I need from you to work in groups and they have 3 mins to discuss these mistakes and to provide me with the right answers. icqs do you have 5 mins to finish? no 3 mins are you going to work in pairs? no in groups

In this stage i will ask ss some opened question . i will ask ss did you agree or disagree with your partner? whose statement created the most discussion ?
