In this lesson ss will be able to write a guide by themselves about learning new skill. focus on introducing purpose (to - in order to - so).

Main Aims

  • To provide productive writing practice of a guide of about learning new skill

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I am going to show them a picture of a boy who is learning writing skills and i will divide them into groups to have a discussion about the photo to answer these questions . what can you see? ss- we can see a boy. what do you think this boy is doing? ss- he is writing or learning how to write . and why to improve her writing skills.

Exposure (4-8 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

in this step I will give them hand out about learning writing skills then I will ask them to continue working in groups and they have 4 min to read and discuss the question TO answer it . Then I will ask them ICQS to make sure they understand. are you going to work alone? no in groups how many mins you have to read and answer the question? 4 min then i will provide them them with the question which is : what do you think this guide about? ss: the importance of learning writing.

Useful Language (5-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

in this step ss will read the guide again to highlight the layout and to clarify useful language by giving them some question related to the guide to answer and to understand the way of writing a guide. Why write? how easy it is TO learn a this skill? what are the problems people have IN ORDER TO learn a new skill? what are good ways TO learn new skill? i will ask them to continue working in groups and they will have 4 mins each question will take one mins. The group will be formed of 4 ss so that after their reading and discussion each one will answer one question. then i will receive their answer for further feedback.

receptive skills (2-6 minutes) • to elicit the rule of the usage of (to-in order to- so)

from reading the text which full of (to and in order to ) i will elicit the rule from them by writing on board choose a skill you know well IN ORDER TO talk about it clearly . asking them why you are going to choose a skill you know well? IN ORDER TO talk about it clearly. when we respond with to? ss- when we want to provide reasons or purpose

productive task (4-8 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice the target language of writing a guide

in this step ss will write their own guide by answering this question. think of a skill you know how to do well. it can be something you do with study or work or sport or free time. write a guide on how to learn this skill using words or phrases to introduce purpose . i will ask them to write 4 paragraph each one of the group will write only one paragraph. they will have 4 mins to write the first paragraph

feedback and error correction (4-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

after they finish they will exchange others papers to correct and then they will provide me with the feedback of each one. for the correction i will give them a rubric to follow like; did the student answer why you learn this skill in the paragraph? make a circle on the wrong spelling. did the student use the purpose rule. then i will take the paper after finishing for the right correction .and they will be asked to continue the rest of the guide at home as an assignment.
