  • To provide gist and detailed reading practice using a text about Favourite times in the context of seasons effect on people.

  • To provide gist, scan and deduction reading practice using a text about Favourite times in the context of interviews

Procedure

Warm-up and Lead-in (8 minutes) • Break the Ice and set the theme of the lesson

Wish the students good morning in Turkish - Gunaydin, arkadaslar write on the board the theme of the lesson: Favourite Times Have students pick a slip of paper Form students in pairs and have them take turns to ask and answer the question written on the paper. Ask around the class what each pair questions and answers were.

Pre-Teach (5 minutes) • Introduce key words that appear in Reading exercise 2a

Draw a winners podium on the board. Write the corresponding numbers; 1, 2, 3 in the respective areas.
