Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T. asks students " Do you like changes in your life?" T. gets feedback from the students very briefly. T. gives a real life experience from her life. " I love changes. For example: I have experienced changes in my life but I have had a big change. I have been living in South Africa for two years, I have been living in South Africa since 2012"

Pre Listening Activity (5-7 minutes) • To prepare students for the listening text

T. shows a photo and asks students "What do you see in the picture?" T. gets feedback from the students. T. asks students "Do you think he has changed his life?" T. asks students to discuss the question in pairs. Elicit guesses about the man in the photo.

Gist Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist listening

T. " Now, you will listen to the man in the photo and he has an interview' T. shows Handout 1 and asks students to listen to the interview and answer the questions.T. elicits the answers.

Detailed Listening (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed listening

T. shows the Handout 2 and instructs students to look at the questions quickly, listen to the interview and answer the questions. T. instructs students to check in pairs. (T. can play a second time' if necessary) Whole Class Feedback

Post Listening (10-12 minutes) • To provide students to practice what they have learned

T. draws the road of her life on WB. T. puts students in pairs. T. distrubutes blank papers. T. instructs students to draw the road of their life and share it with their partners. T. instructs students to use Present Perfect Continuous
