Description

In this lesson ss will practice listening.and know how to speak about their free time activities by listening well and collecting information

Materials

Abc SB book , white board, pictures ,handouts and sound tracks.
Abc face2face SB p.26. ,picture ,handouts and sound tracks.

Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson ss will have practiced listening for specific information in the context of free time

Subsidiary Aims

  • To revise the vocabulary of free time and practice speaking

Procedure

Lead - in (5-10 minutes) • To get the students engaged and activate their prior knowledge in the topic./ to set the context

First, I will say that I don't go out after work so I wait for my free time to do my favorite things. At the weekend I never wake up early. I like to go for a drink with my friends.After that I go shopping with my daughter and sometimes we go to music concerts. -Then I will demonstrate with them the first activity . - Ask ss to do the activity in group work. -Ask them to check their answers. -Drill the new vocabulary. ex; go to concerts / go shopping

Pre-Reading/Listening (5-10 minutes) • To generate interest in listening task and motivate ss to listen to it.

I will ask the ss to look at the photo on page 26 and i'll say this is Freddie and Jeanette.I'll ask ''where are they?'' 'Do you think 'Are they good friends' then I will play the track to check their answers and they wil give them the feedback on the board.

While-/Listening #1 (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information /listening task

I will ask the ss to work alone and write the answers. Then I will ask 'Are you going to work in pairs? then I will play part of the track and ask them 'where are they? or "Does Jeanette go to the cinema? then ask them to check together.

While/Listening #2 (5-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

I will ask them to work alone to answer ex.3 I will demo no.2 and let them compete after that they will check together then I will give them an answer key.

Post-Reading/Listening (5-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will ask the ss to work a lone I will demo number 1 with them .then I ask them to check the answers in pairs finally I will give them an answer key. -Concept check : If I have time I will ask the student's to write a lone five things to do on fridays then they will check it together.
