Description

In this lesson, students will learn v.to be in a sentence,Wh questions and yes or No questions that is through a conversation which describe personal information .Then teach them their weak points then let them practice which is controlled then let them practice freer finally feed back to speak freely.

Main Aims

  • to provide LS to use the long and short form of v.to be in a conversation to express personal information

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice in speaking by using TL freely.

Procedure

GTKY (4-5 minutes) • To enable the ss to be familiar with the teacher and to enable them to know each other

I will use one of the GTKYs called picture name in which I domonstrate that I will draw my name on the board (draw pictures each one express my first name). Then ss will draw their names and guess their partners' names in pairs.

Lead - in (5-7 minutes) • To generate the ss interest's to speak about themselves and their friends.

1-Give ss a card that is divided into two columns which contain that the first column has information about someone called John and ask them fill the other column as the first one.ask them to work in pairs and change their partners to be familiar with each other.Ask them to speak about their partners.

Test 1 (4-5 minutes) • To know what are their weak points and focus on them on next stage

Give ss task about interview conversation and let them choose the right answer.check the answers in pairs then feedback.

Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage through meaning ,form and the pronunciation of the TL

1-I will make an activity on the board using real objects to put the short and long forms of v.Be in order. 2-Think of another ccqs to ask. 3-Choose some positive and negative sentences to drill them with the ss and focus on the contraction and linking . 4-Form:will be on the board and clearify subject,v.Be and obj.

Test 2(controlled practice) (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test.to enable the ss to reorder the questions wh.questions and yes/no questions

1-ask ss to re - arrange some questions through the second hand out from the book p.13 2- let them answer them individualy . 3-check the answers in pairs. 4- I will discuss the answers with them.

Free practice (10-13 minutes) • To enable ss to produce the language .To enable the ss to develop their oral fluency.

show ss pictures of famous Egyptian people and give each student one picture and let them speak freely in pairs and ask them to change their partners. I will observe their speaking and praise any good use of the language and correct any mistakes
