Description

In this lesson,I will be introducing a set of new vocabulary to the Ss as it releats to planning the context of Nationalities.

Abc matching activity (Adapted from New English File Elementry.MACMiLAN)
Abc Google images(WWW.google.com)
Abc Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of using a match activity in the in the context of Nationalities

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in the context of nationalities

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Show Ss some pictures about fiags,famous food and landmarks of countries without saying the country. -let Ss guess the country from the picture. -The countries that they will guess their names are the same that will be used in the following matching ex. -tip the pictures on the board and write countries.

Test #1 (3-5 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

-Give Ss instructions about the activity not to be hesitated . -Set the task which wil be a matching task. -Ask them to match the situable country with its situable nationality. -Do the task. -Ask them to check their answers with the partiner. -Monitor during the task and note down the problematic points.

Teach (13-15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

-Go back to the pictures on the board but this time elicit the nationalities not the countries, -Drill the pronunciation of each word. -Write the nationality on the board next to the country . -Then mark the stress. (only for the hardest words that i monitored in test 1)

Test #2 (15-18 minutes) • Check students' understand the TL and prepare them for the freer practice.

A) -Show Ss our currency in Egypt to get the meaning. -ask them to match the suitable nationality with the country. -set the task. -Domonistrating with Ss not for them. B)-Show a picture of stamps at first. -ICQ: Do you know what is this? stamp -Start to elicit the meaning of stamp. -Ask them to do the task. C)-Give them some istructions (These are famous companies in the world ,i wanna you write the nationality of each company) -set the task,do the task,check in pairs ,feedback. D)-Ask them to write the country under each language E)-They are famous actresses what will you do here is looking at the flag at the top of each picture and write the nationality. -CCQ:So here you will write the country ? No,Only the Nationality. E.

Free practice (11-13 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-Ask them to work in two groups. -Then i will give each group 4 countries,4 nationalities,4 capitals ,4 presidents and ask them to put them in order .The group who end first will be the winner. plan(B) -If i still have time -I will ask them to choose one of each group and choose a country to tell us some information about it . -I will give them an example at fist.
