In this lesson students will discuss different film's genres as leadi-in stage and then they will have a gist at first they should read 2 questions and listen to an interview and found the answer.For intensive task they should find true and false statement .At the end in productive stage they should discuss 2 question in pair .

Main Aims

  • To provide gist and detailed listening in the context of cinema and film .

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice through discusion in the context of cinema and film


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

*T will show them different pictures of movies and ask them whether they know them or not * T will ask them to name some of their favorite movies * T will elicit different genres and ask them to discuss in pair the genre of films in t pictures *S will share their answers together

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

* T will write (Steven Spielberg) and ask them to guess who is he ? * Ss are asked to name his movies if they have seen before * T will show them a picture of (schindler's list) and ask Ss : Have you ever seen this before ? if yes tell the story to the WC. * Hands out will be given to Ss to look at the picture and make guess ( Who is she ?) * T will teach them the word (interpreter ) which they may not know the meaning through giving synonym and CCQ.

While Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information listening tasks

* T will ask Ss to read 2 questions *Ss will listen to the first part of the listening to find the answer *T will ask Ss to share their answers together *T will write the correct answer on the WB

While Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

*Ss are asked to read sentences quickly *T will play track for them *Ss should comment which one is true and which one is false * Ss will be asked to check their answers with each other *Feedback will be given in open class

Post Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

* T will re-pair Ss and will give them 2 written question *Ss will talk in pair and share their idea * Ss will talk to the whole class whether they agree or disagree *T will give them and necessary feedback while monitoring
