Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-15 minutes) • To get students finding words

Play Boogle SS must look at the table of letters and they need to find as many words as they can in the table, they also need to look for the longest word they can find in the table. The letters must connect when they are making the words.

Exposure (10-15 minutes) • Pronouns, prepositions, phrasal verbs

Ask the students What is a preposition? (A word or phrase connecting a noun or pronoun to a verb or adjective sentence. Ask for examples from the SS What is a pronoun? takes place of a noun - this is used to talk about a person Ask for examples from the SS What is a phrasal verb? A phrasal verb is a combination of words (a verb + a preposition or verb +adverb) that when used together, usually take on a different meaning to that of the original verb. Ask for examples from the SS

Set up of Game (5-7 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Go through all the phrases and words we will be using in the game Do an example together!

Free Practice (20-25 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

SS must pick 1 preposition, 1 pronoun, 1 phrasal verb They must then make a sentence with these. The sentence must be a minimum of 8 words and it must contain all the words picked, finally the grammar must be correct. The Team to do it quickest will get 2 points and if the grammar is correct they get one point.
