In this lesson pupils learn about technology devices words through watching watching a video about using technology in our lives.The lesson starts with a discussion about different kinds of technology devices they already know.This followed by pronouncing , reading the new words and using them in meaningful sentences.Finally there are some controlled practice through matching words to pictures and unscrambling the words and free practice via final role play speaking activity about how is technology devices important in their lives.


Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice about some technology devices words as ; computer,smartphone,tablet,laptop,camera,headphones and printers via some pictures , a video and some controlled and free practice

Subsidiary Aims

  • To pronounce and match words of technology words to their pictures and unscramble their letters correctly


Anticipated problems and solutions • To focus on finding solutions for some anticipated problems

• P1-Pupils may face problems in using the new words in sentences correctly . • S1 Give them more examples. • P2 Technology failure • S2 Prepare some extra pictures and other materials instead of using technology .

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Asking pupils to fill in the missing parts in the sentences using the guided words in the box to revise the previously taught words .

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through pictures and a video

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

To draw students' attention to the target language about technology devices via asking them to talk about their previous knowledge about how can we use for example a smartphone in our lives.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

*Asking pupils to watch a video about the different kinds of technology devices we use in our lives. *Discussing with pupils each picture of the new words and how can they use it in their lives. *Asking pupils to pronounce the new words after listening to it . *Asking pupils to listen and repeat the words in EX2a in their PB.P32 ,then underlined the stressed syllabus. *Asking pupils to read the new words correctly and use it in meaningful sentences .

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

*Asking pupils to read then match the provided words of technology devices in the box to their suitable pictures in their PB.P32. *Asking pupils to work in small groups to unscramble the letters of the new taught words in the "A3 sheets " using the guided pictures .

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Asking pupils to listen to a dialogue between two persons talking about how can they use different kinds of technology devices in their lives , then compare in a chart between them using some guided pictures.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Asking some pupils to choose a picture of any device and talk about how it is important in his life .
