Description

In this lesson, the students learn about food.

Materials

Abc Board,smart board,marker, flash card sand plastic food models.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification in the context of food

Subsidiary Aims

  • To classify some kinds of food into 3 categories which are meat , fruit and vegetables.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Showing some plastic food models and introducing them to the students.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and demonstrate the lesson.

Opening Student book page 41. Reading the vocabulary about food. Using the flash cards about food. showing a video-clip about different kinds of food.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice.

Answering the exercises page 41 a,b,c and d.

Language Analysis (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, pronunciation and form of the task language

Analyzing all the vocabulary in the lesson by: -Clarifying the meaning of each word and putting it in a sentence to confirm the meaning. -Clarifying the proper pronunciation for each word by transcribing the word , dividing it into syllables and stressing the word. -Clarifying the form of each word.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

Answering the exercises page 41 e and f.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language.

Highlighting the vocabulary in the lesson.

Activity (5-10 minutes) • To make the class full of enthusiasm and excitement ,besides ensuring the meaning of the vocabulary.

Splitting the class into 3 groups. Fruit group, Vegetables group and Meat group, 7 students in each. Each group according to its nickname is going to include 7 types of that nickname.
