Description

In this lesson ,students learn about journeys and trips. They learn new vocabulary to say means of transport and which kinds of transport people use to go on holidays. They learn them through matching the names of transport to pictures in book .

  • To provide clarification of journey , transport in the context of travel

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a debate in the context of travel

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

how do you travel to Alex? what can we use to travel to Paris or London?

Exposure (5-8 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

show different cards to means of transport and some animals such as horse, donkey and camel

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

show the cards they differentiate the cards to say the names of the transport

Clarification (8-9 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

show cards to students they listen to the words and learn their meaning they repeat the words in groups

Controlled Practice (8-9 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

they work in pairs to make a matching between the words in the box and the pictures in the book ICQs what do we have in pictures? what do we have in the box? what will we do ?

Semi-Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

in exercise 7 b2 , we have four questions ,they work in four groups to answer the questions . they discuss the answer together ICQs How many questions do we have? How many groups do we have ?

Free Practice (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language
