Main Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a students to speak together to talk about their Utopian society in the context of things in society they would like to change

Subsidiary Aims

  • To practice some lexicons of social problems in any society in the context of their dream world or destination they want to live in

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

ask them some questions like: Is the United States of America a good place to live in?then,I will begin by eliciting some social problems in the USA and students'home countries

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • vehicle for meaningful task

The teacher sits students in groups so that each group is going to create his own island

Task (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

The teacher gives students a blank map and another handout of some examples of what they put in their Utopia. then T. asks students in their groups to create their own perfect country on this uninhabited island. They have to decide where to build schools, airports, banks plus the name of their country

Report (6-8 minutes) • feed in and compile the language needed for task cmpletion

The teacher monitors and feeds in vocabulary and pronunciation needed. Compile word list on a lexis column on the board.

Language Analysis (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

The teacher correct the students mistakes and misunderstanding.

Language Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

Now each group is gonna come up and present his own Utopia
