In this lesson, students will learn letter Z,z and. First we will have warm-up after that they will learn the new letter. After that they will complete the exercises on the workbook.Then we will have a conversation which after learning they should do a role play. At the end we will play a game.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of food


Warmer/Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

For the warm-up we will play a game. I will call out a command and the students will do the commands: sit down, stand up, clap, jump, etc. After that I will change the commands with each other. For example: First I will tell them sit down, so they will sit down but after doing commands I will tell them If I said sit down, you should stand up and if I tell stand up you should sit down.

Exposure (8-13 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

On this stage, we will have review by flash cards. I will ask them questions: - What is this? - Do you like it? Then I will give flash cards to them in order to ask from each other.

Clarification (15-20 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will play the listening of the book and then drill. After drilling I will write the letter Z z on the board. After that I will play the second listening and again will do drilling (Work book will be done in the stage of controlled practice after that page 71 of student's book the conversation part will be done). Then I will ask them to describe the pictures on the page 71 of student's book then I will play the listening and drill. At the end they will do role play.

Controlled Practice (10-15 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

On this stage students will complete the exercises 3 and 4 in the book and I will manage them.

Semi-Controlled Practice (10-15 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Students will complete the exercises on the pages 70 and 71 of the work book. I will manage them for their problems.

Free Practice (10-13 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

We will play hangman at the end in order to practice new vocabulary.
