Description

In this session, students will review new vocabulary and they will practice alphabets. For the warm-up, we will play "attention" game in order to burn off a little bit energy. Then they will cover two pages of the book. After that I will check their exercise. Then they will complete page 14 of the handout, after checking the answers I will give feedback by asking them questions. Then we will have dictation. At the end we will play a game.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of book vocabluary in the context of animals, cars, etc.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of daily life.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

For the warm-up, we will play the "attention" game. I will call out commands such as; Attention, say hello, sit down, stand up. Students will do the commands.

Exposure (12-20 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

On this stage, I will play a song, students will sing with the song but after playing the song for the second time. Then we will have dictation by cards.

Useful Language (10-15 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

In this part, I will ask them some questions by flash cards: - What is this? Then I will make them to ask from each other. And I will write the correct form of the words on the board.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

On this stage, students will complete a hand out. After that we will check the answers and I will ask one of the students to stand up and sit on a chair then other students will ask him questions related to their lesson.

Feedback and Error Correction (15-20 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

For the feedback and reviewing this session we will play "run and touch the object'. For example I will call out: This is a pen. Then the students should run and touch the nearest pen which is around me.
