Description

In this lesson, Ss will practice giving compliments and responding to it. Also, they will learn how to write a leaflet. The lesson starts with a discussion about talking photos. Then, they will be doing listening for gist and details. After that, I will explain how to use question tag in speaking. Next, they will apply that in a speaking activity. Then, there will be a discussion about how to be safe in some places. Afterwords, they will be doing reading for gist and details. After that, I will explain how to write a leaflet. Finally, they will practice that by writing their own leaflet.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of language used for giving complements and responding to it and using question tag. in the context of talking photos.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist and detailed listening practice using a text about taking photos.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- throw the ball game.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

- Open discussion about taking photos. - watch part 1 of a video and answer the questions on the book.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

- Explain the question tage. - Give extra examples on the power point. - answer ex. c and d p.26 - Get them to listen to the intonation of the question tag.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

- Do the speaking activity in the book p. 27.

- Open dicission about how to be safe in some places. - They will be doing scan reading and match the headings with the suitable paragraphs - They will be doing detailed reading and answer ex. c p.28 - I will explain the steps of writing a leaflet. - Answer ex. c p. 29 - They will practice writing a leaflet.
