Show the students the picture of a person i admire. I speak about him/her using positive characteristics. Ask students to work in pairs to discuss with their partner which characteristics they most admire in others?

Ask the students to look at the pictures. Emphasize that not all the pictures of famous people,some represent vacations or roles in life. Use the pictures to help students think about the kind of person they might talk about ;someone who has dedicated his/her life to help others. Students listen for the first time to make notes about the person's life. Help ss with questions like who's the person that the speaker admire?what was his job?what happened to him? Ask them to check their answers in pairs,then i give them open class feedback. Students listen again to tell why they admire that person. Try to clarify the meaning,pronunciation and form of some difficult adjectives that the students may use to talk about the person they admire. Help them to pronounce the word [ambitious] and stress the sh sound,the word[ determined] and stress the [shwa]sound,the word [fair], the word[ courageous] and stress the shwa and [dg] sound and the word[ tolerant] . Give ss HO 1 and ask them to match the adjectives with their definitions. Ask them to check their answers in pairs. Give them key answer on the board. Give the students HO 2 .Ask them to work in small groups to discuss which characteristics should the people in the box have. Ask some of them about their opinions in OC discussion. Provide the students with some phrases that may help them in the speaking task; he/she the kind of person who.......,he/she has achieved....... ,he/she exceptionally talented/creative, i really admire the way.......

Make sure ss understand what the task is and encourage them to choose a person to talk about. Give them time to take notes. Remind them to use the phrases from the preparation stage and which they listen to in the audio. Students shouldn't write complete sentences. Change some students' places to speak with new partners. Students work in pairs to tell his /her partener about the person he/she admires. I nominate some students to tell me about themselves or their partners.
