Main Aims

  • Reading to provide gist and specific detail ed sub skills, skills and fluency of the Modern technology context to my students

Lead_in (4-5 minutes) • To get the students engaged and activate their prior knowledge in relevance to the topic

Ask the students (How much is lphone 9+ in Egypt?) Ask them (Do you think modern technology and brand names waste our time and money? and let them discuss in pairs

Pre_Reading • To pre teach vocabulary and make the text more accessible to motivate students to read the text

Explain the word flick through by telling them it's definition flick through is to quickly change from one channel to another. Explain the word antisocial by examplification Explain the word show off by giving an example / She always showing off to his class mates

While_Reading 1 (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information regarding task

Get the students attention. Hold up the work sheet. Tell the students to read the article,then match the headings with the seven paragraphs /ex 4a. Cutting edge

While_ Reading2 (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed reading task

Get the students attention. Ask them to read again. Ask students to work in pairs to answer the questions about Modern technology context.(ex 5)

Post_Reading (8 minutes) • To provide students with an opportunity to respond the text produtively

Divide the students into 2 groups a&b. Discuss in groups reasons which makes you hate or can't live without modern technology? Monitor. Feedback
