1: To provide clarification and practice 2: Correct usage of the words as a verb 3: Checking pronunciation and the correct spelling of given words. 4: Also to develop students spoken fluency and accuracy of the sentences
Procedure (31-45 minutes)
The teacer will give some hints. Brings up the situatin and prepare the class for teaching the new part. The teacher asks students: 1:If you like any sports.... if you have any objects....... if you live in Istanbul? Use short answers and talk to your partner. 2: Next will be CCQs . Asking them if they understand the word by having different questions exactly from that new word.
Teacher is going to illustrate a picture of the word or gestures. So the new part(s) will be exposoured among the learners. Teacher will reveal the correct response or responses. In this part the teacher also will explain what the students will see on the board or the gestures they are looking at, say the correct pronunciation and after the CD repeat the words in case we have the audio part or the teacher's pronouns it or them, they will try to learn to correct the pronunciation and the use of the word. If the teaching part has audio, SS will listen to the audio for the secnd time and they will listen to that part with repetition.
Teacher will ask different questions in detail based on the new word(s) to be sure the students all get the points. Here teachers need production from the students and ask them to say what they know about the new word and how they can make a sentence for it or them.
Teachers will check and correct students' sentences and give more clear examples and ask for different long sentences in case the word has other meanings and usage.
