Description

In this lesson, students will learn grammar while engaging in students focused activities related to the hobbies. The lesson start by game activity related to this grammar. We then give students a text that uses new vocabulary and grammar, then teach grammar on the board with a few examples and repeat and practice with students from the text. Then, using the driiled backup method, we practice their sentences and pronunciation. Finally, we take a test of students and describe some pictures.

Procedure

Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

This is a lead-in activity to activate the class at the start of the session and engage ss attention in the topic which is hobbies.first, the teacher will pair the ss and provide them with a HO1 of three different activity which are related to the topic of the lesson and will personalize the topic as well as ss will get more engaged with acting the sentences which are related to making new sentences with using gerund form the verb.

Exposure #1 (5-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Here's the text we selected, the story that used this grammar. As ss read the story, they should find the verbs inside the sentence and talk to their classmates about them.

Highlighting and clarification #1 (15-20 minutes) • To draw students attention to the target language and clarify the meaning,form of the verb

At this point, we write sentences from within the text to select students and specify the verb and agent in the sentence and explain how to use the verb and the times we can use this time.

Exposure #2and clarification #2 (5-7 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a speaking activity,form and pronunciation of the target language

At this point, we practice the sentences we wrote on the board with students using the back ground drill method. All ss repeat words after teacher and students have to repeat their own sentences in the same way they practice.We give students a series of pre-prepared questions to answer by using the verbs written.

Free practice (5-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The teacher gives the pictures to the students and divides the students into 1/3 groups. Students need to talk about photos using the verb time that was taught, and each of them has about 3 minutes to talk about their interests and activities they do.
