in this lesson students learn about the second conditional through TTT(teach ,test,teach) based on a video about the lottery. the lesson starts with a discussion about luck.finally there is some controlled practice through sentence reformulation and free practice via a final speaking activity.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

the teacher asks some questions about luck. Are you a lucky person? why do you think that you are a lucky person? on a scale of 1 to 10 how lucky are you? the teacher shows a video to students and asks them to explain what ever understand about the video.then asks a question from them ( what would you do if you won the lottery?)

Test #1 (10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

the teacher gives an activity to students and asks them to answer the quiz individually.

Teach (10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

the teacher starts a lesson with making story that is related to lottery and money.then asks some questions in order to gets feed back from students (CQs).then the teacher says some sentences related to the story and asks the students to repeat the same sentences in order to become familiar with the second conditional. then writes two example on the board and explain the form of the structure to the students.

Test #2 (8 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

the teacher gives two activities to the students. one activity is semi controlled practice that they should change the sentences and make the second conditional. another activity is matching.the teacher have got some mixed up sentences( conditional sentences) and students should put the sentences in correct order.

Free practice (12 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

the teacher gives some interesting questions to students and they should answer them individually and them share their answers in groups and have discussion. what would you do if you found 100 million in the street? what would you say if your friend arrived at a party wearing a horrible new dress and asked you how do I look?
