Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of friends&enemies words in the context of friends&enemies

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of friends&enemies

Procedure

Lead-in / Building context (4-5 minutes) • To activate Ss’ existing knowledge of the topic and generate interest in the topic/theme of the lesson.

-Tell students that they are going to watch a video clip. -Ask them to watch it and talk about the characters in the video clip their interactions and talk about it with their partner for two or three minutes. -For feedback ask what they think.

Presentation (10-20 minutes) • To clarify meaning so learners understand it To clarify the pronunciation so learners know how to say it To clarify form so that learners know how to construct it

--Paste words on the walls of the classroom. - Group students and ask them to go around look at the words and read what they mean - Give students 5 minutes. - Give students HO1 - Elicit answers from the students. --Write the words on the WB -Ask students CCQ -Show students stress of words on the WB. -Pronunce words and do drilling WC and nominating students individually -Give students HO2. -Tell students to fill the gaps with the words given. - Students check their answers with in pairs. -Feedback give the answer key. -

Practice (10-15 minutes) • to enable students to practice vocabulary through a controlled practice

-Tell students how to do the task. -Give students HO3 and pair them. -When they finished change partners and ask them to do the same with their new partners. -Feedback nominate students to share what they find out about their partners.

Production (10-12 minutes) • to enable students to practice their writing and speaking skills through a freer activity in the context of friends and enemies

-Tell students to choose three nouns and write a story. -When they finished group them and ask them to tell each other the stories that they wrote. -Nominate students and ask them to share their stories. -
