Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ask Ss to watch the video clip and answer 2 Qs in pairs. Ss will watch and discuss the questions in pairs. Take w/c feedback.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Pre-teach 2-3 vocabulary. Ask the Ss to listen and answer what the conversation is about. Play the recording. Ss will listen. peer-check. Ask them to listen again and write the phrases in conversations. Peer-check. w/cFB. practice the conversation.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

pre-teach cafe and customer. Ask the Ss to listen to a conversation in a cafe and tick what the customers order. Play the recording. Ss will tick the items. peer-check. w/c FB.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ask the Ss to look at the menu. Put them in groups of 3. Ask them to write a conversation in a cafe. Ask them to memorize it. Ask them to act it out.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Ask the Ss to decide which group acted out the conversation better. Ss will decide and tell.
