Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Before the class put a Oscar music on. When class starts give Ss 3 x pieces of paper with Movie vocabulary they already know. Give instructions for the Taboo game. Ss say the definition of the word they have to their pair. The other student guesses the word. FB: Ask which words they didn't know

Exposure (5-7 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Give instructions. Give Ss a handout 'Find someone who...' Ss go around the classroom, find people mentioned in the handout and write their names. They collect as many names as they can. A S with the most names wins. ICQ: How many names you should collect? Do you use positive sentences or questions? FB: Raise your hand if you got 1...10 names.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

While Ss are on task, write two sentences from the previous activity on the board.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Draw the Ss attention to the board and give instructions. Give them a handout with meaning. Ss find the meaning looking at example sentences. Peer check. FB: elicit answer from the Ss, show it on the board. Give instructions. Give the handout with the form. Ss fill in the blanks in pairs. General FB. Answers on the board. Show them slide 4. Ask about stress in the words and if it changes or not. Elicit answers from the students.

Controlled Practice (10-15 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Give instructions for a Scavenger hunt. Show an example sentence on the board. Give handout for a pair In pairs Ss 'hunt' for the answers. The questions are in 5 different places. Ss follow instructions on the handout to find those places and answer the questions. The game finishes when they have all questions answered. The winner is the pair who were fastest and most correct. ICQ: How many places you should go to? What you should do with the questions? Do you finish when you have all answers or some? Answers are shown on the board. Students check themselves. CCQ any vocabulary if necessary. WGFB. Who was fastest and got the most answers correct?

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Give instructions, tell them they're going to watch a video. Show example sentence on the board. Ss watch the video. While watching they write any feelings or opinion they had about the movie. Give them 2 minutes to write after they finish watching. Students share their answers with their pair. General w/c FB

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Give instructions. Show the questions on the board. Ss create 3 questions they want to ask. Ss interview at least 3 people. w/c FB: What was the most interesting answer you heard?
