Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Instructions. You've read the text about unusual holiday plans in previous lesson. You can see that the tables are divided according to the type of holiday. Choose the holiday type you prefer most and sit at that table. Discuss with your group why did you choose it. Ss choose sit according to the plan and discuss.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Instructions. - Choose the correct form of the verb to complete the sentence. For example. I hope to find or finding the yeti, Which one is correct, I hope to find or finding? (To find) You have 5 minutes. Please, start. - Now, look at the text you read in previous lesson. Find these (pointing) 7 phrases in the text and check your answers. ICQ: Where do you look for answers? In this lesson or previous one? Ss complete the sentences, check their answers and check with their pair T monitors if they understood the task, and if they're on task and on time. FB: Do you all have similar answers?

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Instructions. The collocations are on the board. CCQs: Are we talking about feature? Yes Is it an intention, plan? Yes Is it a definite arrangement? No Who wants to give me an example sentence choosing one of the expressions? What form of the verb goes after 'I hoe to, I plan to'? Verb infinitive

Productive Task(s) (10-12 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Instructions: Choose one of the holidays from the previous lesson. Prepare answers to these questions. Individually. You have 5 minutes. (Give the scaffold paper) ICQ: Did we read about the holidays in this lesson or previous one? What time is it now? (Ss tell the time) What time will it be when you finish? (Ss tell the time, T writes on the board) Ss give short answers to the questions. T should adjust the tables so that ss face each other for the discussion. T shows ppt 1st question on the board. Share your answer to the 1st question with your pair. ICQ: How many questions will you discuss? Ss discuss the first question. Then change pairs to discuss the second question. They keep changing pairs in each question. WGFB. Which one is the most popular holiday destination? Instructions. Aim - to set the context interest students to the task. Scaffolding Remember the time I told you about my first experience in Istanbul, how I didn't know how to get to the hotel? Some of you had really good advice, when you wrote an email to Kate yesterday. Today you'll extend that advice. Two friends are coming to visit you for a week. It's their first time in Turkey, as well as in Istanbul. You are going to be their guide. Create a one-week programme for the visitors to introduce your city or country. Try some ideas from this list, and add your own. You have 7 minutes. ICQs: Have these two Australian people been to Istanbul or Turkey before? How long are they staying? How long is your programme? Ss work individually. Instructions In pairs discuss and choose best points from each list and combine the programme. Ss adjust their programme.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-7 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language
