Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of time

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice with numbers in the context of time

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show a funny picture about time and ask the Ss to predict what the topic is. Ss say the topic.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Ask the Ss to watch a short clip about an street interview . Put the Ss in pairs and ask the Ss to discuss what they are doing. take w/c feedback.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Put 4 sentences on the board. Draw Ss' attention. use MFP to clarify it.(o'clock) Ask CCQs. Model and drill the stress.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

game. Put some cards with time on it in an envelope. Ask the Ss to take one and Ask and answer what time it is wth other Ss. Ss walk around and ask others and practice. Ask Ss to pick up another card and ask each other. Monitor and help.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

listen carefully and note down some errors. put the errors on the board. Put Ss in pairs. Ask Ss to correct them.
