Speaking for fluency and accuracy
To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation,debate,pair work,group work in the context of at a party
To provide practice of the present simple tense in the context of the party
Procedure (45-35 minutes)
Make up story,talk about last night party ,meet a new friend there.Ask ss if they see sb new What information they want to know? Write their answers/words on the board. e.g:age,job,boy/girl friend/college/nationality........
Ask students two by two think about the words on the board and make a question with each. write some questions on the board.
write examples on the board: old/How/you/are/? hobbies?your?are?What? Where.............you from? ............do you do? Where d........ you live? What is y............ address? Ss fill the gaps in pairs. w/c FB Drill some sentences and check their intonations.(fallin intonation for Wh questions) Rounded lips for 'w'.
Give ss numbers randomly and 1-2-3-4 and all N.1 must be together and so on. Give ss handout change their groups by numbers .Ss fill the gaps with given words in a circle. w/c FB
Pick one of the names by chance,she/he sits on the hot chair,other students ask questions they made.It is going to be fun!
Ss do a survey around the class,find sb who gives a similar answer to their own. Ss make notes about the answers they get. Ss sit,divide them in to 2 groups ask on of the members of the groups to read a statement about one of his/her group,the other group guess the person.
