Main Aims

  • To provide gist, specific information and detailed listening practice using a listening track about an interpreter and her experience , in the context of Movies

Subsidiary Aims

  • Ss will be better able to understand listening and use its idea to talk


Warmer/Lead-in (4-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Showing some photos of some movies to students and ask if they have seen them them or not and what is their favorite movie. - Dividing them into groups to discuss about the questions. What's your favorite movie? Do you know these movies' producer? Have you seen any of them? Did you like them or not?

Pre-Listening (8-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

- Teaching blocking vocabulary (MPF & elicitation) - Asking Ss to at the photos of the book and guess who are they?

While-Listening (4-6 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

-Asking Ss to listen to the audio and answer the gist question Who is Dogmara? Where did she meet Spielberg?

While-Listening #2 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

*(looking for specific information) -Providing some information questions and Asking Ss to listen again and find the answer - Asking Ss to check their answers together *( listening for detailed comprehension) -Asking Ss to red the T/F statements, listen and answer them -Ss discuss about the wrong answers in pairs

Post-Listening (6-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the audio and expand on what they've learned

- Putting Ss into different pairs to talk about related questions to the listening and then some other personal questions
