Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will tell ss why I wanted to become a teacher, telling them the saying of my teacher" Teaching is love and to love is to give , the true lover is a great giver." . Then, I will ask them to talk in pairs about their future jobs and why they want to do it .

Pre-Reading/ (4-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

In the pre reading stage, I will teach some new vocabulary. Today, I have two plans to introduce the new vocabulary. A student- centered way by matching words with their definitions. A teacher- centered way by providing pictures, definition or through context.

While-Reading 1 (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist reading tasks.

I will ask ss to match the headings to the paragraphs. I will tell them that they don't have to read every word. I will tell them that they only want to get the general idea of each paragraph and match the headings to the the letters. I will set 3 minutes to do the task. I will ask ICQs: Are you going to read every word or just the general idea? How many minutes are you going to have to answer the task? After they finish, I will ask them to check their answers in pairs . For feedback, I will ask them to unfold the paper and check their answers.

While-Reading 2 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with specific and detailed, reading tasks

I will tell ss that now they are going to read the text to look for more specific and detailed information. I will tell them that they have to read carefully and look for specific information. I will give them Ho2 which has six true or false questions and ask them to work alone. I will set 5 minutes to answer the questions. I will monitor and offer help if needed. After that, I will ask them to check in pairs .Then, I will provide the answer key. Ss will be given HO3 which has three wh questions. I will tell them to work alone. then check answers in pairs. Finally , i will provide the key answers.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will ask ss to think of the teacher that has influenced them the most or the person that has influenced them the most. I will help them with ideas and questions to think of. I will allow them to take notes if needed. Then, I will ask them to talk in pairs .

Content Feedback (3-5 minutes)

I will ask one from each pair to talk about his friend's influential person .
