  • To provide the ss with listening content which will help them speak about their places.

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The t is going to show the ss some pictures from Australia and ask them to work in pairs to figure out what country it is. Then the T asks them the question ( what do you know about Australia?) . The T goes around to monitor and and take notes then he asks them to tell what they know about the country.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

The T gives the ss the map of Australia filled with numbers in certain places around the country and chests the vocabulary box showing them the vocabulary that they are going to match hings with the places where they are found through a listening record. The teacher T walks around taking notes and giving help when it is needed. Then the ss will compare their answers with the neighboring pair before the T gives them the key answer to check their answers. The T checks the concept with some questions.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

The T writes some headings on the white board and gives the ss the cut up papers to be pasted under the correct heading. The cut ups will be mainly about the language they are going to use in their next activity ( the speaking task) . The ss discuss the answer and then take turn to stick them under the correct heading. The T goes around to observe , take notes for the correction stage.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

In pairs the ss are going to work by choosing a place the'd like to talk about. They will be given time ( 5 minutes) to think , prepare and to take notes.
