Main Aims

To provide review and clarification of there is/there are in the context of place

Subsidiary Aims

To provide practice and review of holiday words in the context of places in a town/the country

Procedure (25-41 minutes)

pre reading prediction (3-6 minutes) • Teaching all kinds of places

I showed my images to students and asked them about their favorite places.

pre-teaching vocabulary (10-15 minutes) • prepare the students for listening

I give students some new words and phrases from the text and ask them guess the meanings.I will give students a hand out and get them to read the text then talk about it.

freer practice (6-10 minutes)

The students are given handouts including two questions. - They discuss the sentences about your favorite places with different partner - The teacher takes notes of their mistakes and in the end writes them on the board - The teacher elicit the correct answers
