Description

This lesson centers around 'street art' or rather percisely 'graffiti' where students are introduced and realized how much they notice these said art around them in their daily lives. Throughout this guided discovery students will be introduced to new vocabulary and phrases and will learn to use them in real world conversations.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in • To set lesson context and engage students

try to get students familiar with the topic they are going to go through,the students will be asked about street art to make them talk about the topic , they will be shown a few pictures

pre reading (10-15 minutes) • to prepare students for the text and make it accessible

with a short time given the students will be given a handout containing vocabulary, they will work in pairs to match the meaning of each word, through this task the vocabulary of the reading will be drilled and they won't have problems understanding while reading the text .through this task they will be asked CCQs and ICQs.

while reading the vocabulary (2-5 minutes) • to make sure the students get the meanings

the students will be asked to read their answers related to the task they did before so their pronunciation and mistakes will be corrected.to provide students with specific information.

While-Reading (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks

the students will be asked to read the text and underline the words which they find difficult to read or pronounce . then they will be asked to read the text out loud and through this task their pronunciation mistakes will be corrected . afterwards they are going to be ask about the story and they will give a short summary about the text to make sure they've got the main idea.

after reading (5-10 minutes) • to make students talk about their own idea.

the students will be asked to work in pairs and talk about some questions given . Afterwards they are going to talk about the idea their group came up with.

post reading (5-10 minutes) • to provide an opportunity to answer to the problem which the students have

During the limited given time , the student will have to work individually on the last task and this provides an opportunity to monitor them and asking them if they have any questions about the whole lesson.
