Procedure

Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T focuses Ss' attention of the two photos, and get them to discuss in pairs what the relationship and small problem are in each case.

Pre-teach (2-4 minutes) • To remove the blocking words/phrases.

T asks Ss elicits the phrase 'give someone a lift' by asking 'What is another phrase when you take someone somewhere in your car?. Then I write it on the w/b. I do the same with 'pick someone up'; "what's another phrase for going somewhere to get someone?"

Listening Task (3-5 minutes) • To listen for specific information

T tells Ss that they are listening to 2 conversations. Ss listen and complete the sentences in the worksheet. Ss work alone then they check answers with their partners. ICQs: Are we working alone or in pairs first? ' Alone'. T hands out the worksheet. After Ss finish, T gets feedback and corrects errors.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T gets feedback on the previous task. T sticks some examples on the board of 'will' for offers and instant decisions. T divides Ss into two groups, then asks them to match the meanings with the sentences. T draws a timeline to clarify the meaning. Next, T does the same with 'Form', and pronunciation.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T makes Ss sit in pairs. T tells them that they are going to write full sentences using I'll for offering. Each pair has to cooperate to finish this task successfully; answers are hanged on the board and S1 has to write the answers that the S2 one will dictate. To make the task more challenging, questions are put in different order for each pair. T monitors them and notices Ss' mistakes. Then T gets feedback and correct errors. Alternative Task: T dictates a few sentences to Ss using 'will' for offers and instant decisions. Next, Ss dictate the sentences to each other. T get feedback and corrects errors related to MFP.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T tells Ss that they are playing Bing game. Ss are divided into a groups of three. Each group chooses a name (if they like :).T shows Ss some prompts on the screen such as 'My car's broken down'. Pairs have to respond with an offer/instant decision. The first team saying Bingo and respond first. After Ss finish, T get Content/ Language Feedback and corrects errors.
