In this lesson, the students learn about the requests and will find a lot of opportunity to repeat it.Since usage of the target language level is good with this class, I think that they will be very clear about the context and my main aim 'grammar'

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of requests in the context of travel and holiday

  • To provide accuracy and fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of travel and holiday


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

One by one the pictures are going to be shown to the students by the help of the projector. Eliciting information from the students about the pictures. Try to guess where it is. -Which airport, Have you seen it, did you like it etc. -Talk about security guards&passangers conversation. Teacher: (Picks a student and makes a small role play with him/her)Is it like that, You! Empty your pockets! Put your luggage here! Make your arms like that quickly! Hurry up! Walk! Question&Answers: How would this conversation be in a more polite way?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Dialogue on the board with the help of projector Give HOs 2 students in front of the board, role play. Get the students talk about 'the polite words' Underline the words which you think is a polite way of saying something.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To highlight and clarify language

Talk about the word 'Please' Listening Polite or rude? Listen and repeat.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Requests and Orders (Elicit the word 'order') written on the board. Which verbs do we have for requests? Write with the class, elicit information. Backchaining during clarification. Work in pairs.Using friendly intonation,practise the previous given dialogue.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Role Play Handouts are chosen by the students,some of them are passangers some of them are flight attendants from the box. Teacher will give stickers of 'F' for the flight attandances. Everyone in front of the board, find partners and talk.
